## About

E.J. has over 25 years of experience in the Security, Privacy, Risk Mitigation, Fraud and Investigations. E.J.’s primary focus is in helping clients establish a practical and effective Cyber Security controls , Compliance and Privacy strategies, and conducting complex investigations involving cyberattacks, fraud and money laundering. His ultimate specialty is understanding how stolen goods and data are converted to real world currency and tracking criminals based on the currency exchange.

As the Director of US Regulatory Compliance and CFIUS Security Officer for Element Materials Technology, E.J. handles regulatory (US and International) and contractual compliance across 140 labs, conducts investigations and leads Internal Audit. E.J. also owns and operates KCE Advisors, a boutique consultancy firm that addresses client investigative and security needs. Prior to these roles, he also held executive roles in Cyber, Security, and Privacy at CNM, Gavin de Becker, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Kroll (US and Europe), Myspace and Control Risks. E.J. served as an FBI Special Agent addressing Fraud, Cybercrime, Counterintelligence and Counterterrorism. He spent 4 years undercover; two years working against Eastern European hackers and two years infiltrating Al Qaeda online.

E.J. began his professional career as a High School Teacher and Coach.

E.J. has a BA in History and a minor in Biology from the University of San Diego. He has undergone advanced training in cyber security, physical security, privacy, fraud, investigations, interrogations, and regulatory compliance. E.J. has received numerous awards including 3 FBI Distinguished Service Awards and 2 US. Attorney Awards. He has also been cited by various news and media outlets to include- MSNBC, Rolling Stone, CNN, BBC, Wired, Financial Times, History Channel and the WSJ.
